At the last second ...

The wind rushed through the dark woods as the express train “Metropolis Star” thundered down the tracks. Its headlights cut sharply through the night. On the rails—directly in its path—lay Lois Lane, tied up and helpless.
The cold steel beneath her vibrated. Every muscle in her body was tense. Minutes shrank to seconds. She struggled against the ropes, but in vain.
Suddenly, a gust of wind—strong as a storm. A flash of blue shot down from the sky. With a deafening screech, the train came to a halt—just inches from Lois’s face.
Superman stood there, having stopped the train with his bare hands, his gaze firm and determined.
“You sure have a talent for getting into trouble, Lois,” he said with a faint smile as he gently lifted her from the tracks. “But at least you always know how to call me at the right moment.”
Lois exhaled in relief. “I knew you’d come.”
Above them, the sky began to glow with the first light of dawn—a new day, saved at the very last second.
